In
the years called the Time of Sorrows all forms of animal life passed away because of the carelessness and arrogance of the people.
Across
all lands there was endless sorrow at such a devastating loss and the
whole earth was covered in the shadow of regret. The grief of the people was so
great and they longed so much for the lost creatures that they pieced together
the hides left behind into animal shapes. They cared for and nurtured these lifeless forms as
if they were real. And offering unceasing prayers to the Creator they hoped that He
might bring the lost back once again to fill the earth.
After
many generations, the Creator took heed of the cries of the people and the
lifeless began to live. The first were Soju and Etha and with these began The Age
of the Drowning of Sorrows.
