The Shepherd of
Every Blooming Vine has a lifespan of 100 years and then the shepherding is passed on to another overseer. No one knows who will take up the mantel of shepherding until the chosen one begins to “sprout.” A lengthy and extravagant celebration then occurs, especially if much time has passed between the death of the shepherd and the revealing of the new bearer because in that waiting period there are no blooms over all the earth.
